'Mere Hisse ki Hansi' is a joint initiative of Save The Children, India and OneWorld Foundation India to sensitise the community and children and create a dialogue among the audience about key child rights issues The series is of 15 minutes duration focussing on issues such as gender discrimination, violence against the girl child, nutrition, child labour etc. 'Mere Hisse ki Hansi' includes radio drama backed up by folk entertainment and an expert interview to reinforce the message. For decades the rights of children have been ignored while the issues of child labor, lack of education, and malnutrition have been increasing. It is only recently that the dialogue on the rights of children to education, healthcare, development and expression has caught the attention of law makers and the implementing agencies. There is now a growing concern within the government about the conditions that the country's children are living in. In this space we give these children a voice to tell us about their needs, concerns and to share their stories
