This is the first time in human history that most of the world's population lives in cities: 3.3 billion people and the urban landscape continues to grow. In the developing countries uninterrupted supply of potable water is not provided in almost half of the cities. Proper filtering of tanks, reducing water loss in distribution system and starting water conservation measures from domestic level, increased public awareness on the needs of water conservation may help in tackling the problem.
