Maharashtra is one of the largest states in India, both in terms of population and area. In Mumbai, the Maharashtra Day celebrations are held at the Shivaji Park in central Mumbai. The governor of the state takes the salute at the ceremonial parade, comprising members of the state reserve police force, Brihanmumbai Commando Force, home guards, civil defence, fire brigade and city police.

<p>To work for the betterment of the community, with the community. To use knowledge bank of Pune University to solve various issues in society as it is our responsibility.</p>

<p>As an agricultural university, we have three main goals Education, Research and Extension The third goal, extension which means extension of knowledge of higher education should be spread in society for the betterment of community, society. Radio can be effective and modern tool for the extension of knowledge which, also can be connect the various issued in society with the solution from education system of university.</p> <p>As extension is third main goal for every university, it is the necessity for new technological world to used new modern and effective tool for it. There had to be a good tool for us to establish the bond between the community andthe university. After searching differentsolutions we found community radio is a best medium. To make university more social which is it responsibility radio is best solution to interact with society and it began with the survey follow through the CR setup procedure.</p>

Vidyavani Community Radio @107.4 MHz broadcasts its programmes for 11 hours daily from 7.00 am – 6:00 pm.

Languages of Broadcast: Marathi, Hindi and English.

<p>Funding and Partnerships University of Pune provided all the land, building, machinery, equipments and necessary funds at the time of inception.</p>
