On September 25th, 2015, member states of the United Nations adopted a set of 17 goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

In this programme, we interviewed Avinash Kumar, Director, Water Programmes and Policies, WaterAid India. He has talked about people mindset on open defecation and disposal of solid waste, the impact of water scarcity on women and health problems due to polluted water.

In this programme, we talk to Prof Sachin Chaturvedi, Director-General, RIS to delve upon efforts of India to achieve SDGs including interventions at the parliamentary levels, the transition from MDGs and key learnings for the way forward. In his talk, Prof Chaturvedi says that there is a need to reduce dependence on government for achieving SDGs. At the same time, he emphasises that civil society and corporates will play an important role in achieving these goals.

This programme is based on Teaching Professionals' Olympiad (TPO). TPO is a first-of-its-kind national competition to reward, recognize and celebrate teachers and also the first step towards the CENTA Certificates. Based on the tremendous response for the first edition, this second edition TPO 2016 is being held in 22 cities across India, with 11 subject tracks plus two Challenger tracks offered! TPO 2016 is supported by The Hindu, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Varkey Foundation, HT Parekh Foundation (HDFC) and Central Square Foundation.

Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz

Run by OneWorld since 2005, Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz or EDEA (One World, One Voice) is a radio programme on development issues in Hindi broadcast on the popular national channel, AIR FM Rainbow India 102.6 MHz. The programme focuses on sustainable development related themes and usually features interaction with distinguished people. Till date, EDEA has broadcast about 600 radio programmes.

Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz is broadcast every Wednesday from 16:30 Hours - 16:45 Hours.

Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz is a flagship programme of OneWorld Foundation India.

At Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz we receive people's feedback on our programme from more than 20 Indian states. SMS feedbacks received after broadcast of EDEA episode average between 60 to 70.
