The constitution talks about the right to clean and healthy food in Article 21. India has the highest number of malnutritioned kids all over the world. Corruption and ignorance have turned our agricultural economy into a breeding ground of under privileged children. This episode stresses on every human’s right to food. Kids on the show establish how the lacuna of proper nutrition affects people and how the government is inefficient and refuses to do anything about it.

What counts as corporal punishment? Is it so necessary? Should it be completely abandoned? The episode deals with the very debatable topic of corporal punishment in schools and homes. It discusses its physical, mental and emotional effects and why people are driven to resort to such means. Also, the measures to deal with the problem got special attention as the speakers got together and brought out various opinions.

The 5th September teacher’s day special was dedicated to the issue of the student-teacher relationship. Mughda and guest speaker, Mrs. Renu highlighted the preference of kids in regards to their teachers, as ones who were interactive as well as caring. Also, discussions took place as to how teacher’s day was celebrated in different schools. A special message to all the children out there: Love your teachers, they are your own. Respect them and you will get respect in return. The lines played, on the show, from the movie Jagriti summed up the whole episode: “those kids who are naughty are not to be dealt with harshness but to be rectified and nurtured. By giving them some amount of freedom.”

This episode dealt with homeless children who live in public places. It highlighted the major reasons of leaving home, discussed their financial and social pressures. Even the problems like sexual exploitation, MCD and committees, that are faced by them were put forward. All humans have the right to have a home and need to be educated for their rights. The inhuman conditions in which they are forced to live, lead to frustrations and finally suicides.

Celebration of independence day - Baat nanhe dillo ki (Hindi)

The episode celebrates the festive spirit of Independence Day, discussing how children celebrated it. Guest speaker Mr. K. Karan, from Plan India, talks about common problems faced by children such as physical and sexual abuse, exploitation, rights to survival, education, participation, protection and equality. He advises us to gain awareness about such issues and put in our share of effort to improve the system. Kids from UP, Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan and Haryana got to express their opinions and so did the guest children speakers from different schools.
