Kanuvippu (An Eye Opener)

Continuing the ceaseless war on child marriages Radio Ala came forward with a short skit Kanuvippu (An Eye Opener) to educate and to create consciousness in girl child against this vile tradition of marrying at an unriped age.

To bring revolutionary change and to create awareness on Child Marriage social stigma Radio Ala took great initiation and planned a programme on February 26th at the Zilla Parishad High School Uppada Kothapalli Village where a number child marriages took place in the 80s,90s and even today. The East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh was once attracted the whole nations attention for doing marriages to infants who were merely some days old. The Andhra Pradesh state like all the other states in India has accumulated bad reputation in performing child marriages.

 

Radio Ala took the responsibility of eradication of this custom and vowed to protect the rights of Girl Child. On 26th of February 2019 We arranged an awareness programme "Balyaaniki Bharosa" ( Assurance to Childhood) which was aired instantly without any editing with all the attendees of the school children. The program "Balyaaniki Bharosa" clearly explained the sufferings and miserable lives of girls who forcibly married at very tender age.
