In this programme of ‘Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz’, we are talking about the efficient use of resources. Ahead of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) that is to be held on January 31, 2013, Dr. R K Pachauri, Director General of the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), talks about the efficient use of resources and why it is important to use the resources judiciously. He also talked about the attendees at the DSDS like the former Soviet Statesman, Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, and the former President of Finland, Tarza Halonen. He stressed on the use and dissemination of information across the globe, so that issues like climate change can be handled better. He said that India doesn’t stand anywhere in terms of Efficient use of resources and it needs to work more in the field of agriculture and other areas.

YUVA meet 2013 (Involvement of youth) ( Hindi)

The main objective of the programme is to know about the Youth Unite for Voluntary Action (YUVA) meet, which is a part of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) 2013. The programme would outline the key highlights and new elements that have been added since last year’s session. Dr. Rajiv Seth, Registrar of TERI University brings out the importance of involving young people in discussions about issues like sustainable development and how their active participation would help in bringing about the change with respect to the environment. Dr. Seth also mentioned that a large number of students from universities and other colleges will participate in the programme. This programme acts as a platform for students in sharing their views and innovative ideas that can help in furthering sustainable development in India and across the world. Sharing a few success stories on Indian youth, he said that such deliberations would help in bringing about the change across the globe.
