Mrs. Malarkodi, India's 1st Women Lorry driver who was awarded with the title Veeranai Goods,India’s best Women lorry driver and many more to her credits . Malarkodi learned lorry driving from her husband a professional lorry driver in Tiruchengode, (a small village in Namkkal district, Tamilnadu) who travels all 30 days in a month to all parts of India for delivering goods. When her husband met with a serious accident, it was at that moment Malarkodi took lorry driving as her profession and continued to take orders that came for her husband. Then after she continued this profession with fill dedication ignoring all bad and unwanted criticism from her neighbors. Mrs.Malarkodi is an encouraging star for many of her community women.

<p>Signature Programme: Velicham Community Participation: KSR Community Radio mainly focuses on environment, social issues, health issues – especially about HIV/AIDS and cancer, personal hygiene, self-motivation, personality development, science awareness andeducation, agriculture, career guidance and music. It broadcasts various programmes on these areas which have participation of community members, students and experts.Most listeners like live shows that enable their participation. They also like to call up on a phone-in programme. Innovations in Format: Featureshows on agriculture, lifestyle, and health awareness are combined with invitations to listeners to phone in. The radio features a phone-in programme wherein a doctor provides free consultancy to people calling up the studio number. KSRCR also has started internet broadcasting on various streams of MP3 mono and stereo over http. The internet broadcasts can be accessed via android,Symbian,Palm,Blackberry,Windows Smart Phone,Windows Pocket PCs,I-Phone and simpler Java Phones. KSRCR is the first community radio with internet streaming for java phones with a mobile application.</p>
<p>Funding and Partnerships Initial funding was provided by the parent institution, the KSR Educational Trust, that promoted the Community Radio Station. The KSR Educational Trust continues to fund the station for its day-to-day functioning.</p>
<p>KSR Community Radio conducts awareness campaign to create awareness on HIV-AIDS, blood donation and tree plantation. KSR Community Radio began with building a bridge between the people and their Community RadioStation to help them communicate and participate in forthcoming events.<br />People agree that they now understand the impacts of diseases,pollution,health oriented issues andthe usage of plastic (to name a few issues) after they heard discussions on these issues broadcastover KSRCR.</p>
